In a remarkable achievement, Jigawa State has taken the 1st runner-up position in the North-West zone at the 2nd Nigeria Governors Primary Health Care (PHC) Leadership Challenge Fund Awards & Gala Night, held on December 12, 2024. The state received a whopping $400,000 prize money to further strengthen its PHC system.
His Excellency, the Governor of Jigawa State, personally received the award, accompanied by the Honorable Commissioner for Health and two Executive Secretaries from JSPHCDA and JICHMA. This achievement is a testament to the state’s commitment to improving its healthcare system.
The 2nd Nigeria Governors PHC Leadership Challenge Fund Awards aim to recognize and reward states that have demonstrated exceptional leadership and commitment to strengthening their primary healthcare systems. The awards are part of a broader initiative to improve healthcare outcomes in Nigeria.
