In a fresh move, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has resubmitted a petition to the Senate, alleging sexual harassment by Senate President Godswill Akpabio. This time, the petition is backed by her constituents.

The Kogi Central lawmaker presented the petition during Thursday’s plenary session, after which it was referred to the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Code of Conduct for investigation. The committee has four weeks to conduct its probe and report back to the Senate.
Second Attempt at Seeking Justice
This marks the second time Senator Natasha has brought the allegation before the Senate. A previous petition was dismissed on Wednesday due to procedural irregularities.
Tension in the Senate Chamber
Meanwhile, the Senate Chief Whip, Tahir Munguno, called out Senator Natasha for allegedly breaching Senate rules regarding protocol before proceedings. He urged her to comply with the Senate’s regulations and avoid further violations.
Investigation Underway
The Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Code of Conduct will investigate the allegations and report back to the Senate within four weeks. The outcome of the investigation will determine the next course of action.
