In a shocking development that has sent ripples through Nigeria’s political landscape, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has confirmed receipt of the Access Party’s registration request. This news was announced by Audu Bulama Bukarti, the leader of Tafiyar Matasa (Youth Movement), on his Facebook page, where he expressed gratitude to Allah for this milestone achievement.

According to Bukarti, the Access Party’s mission is to provide opportunities for fresh faces with good character to emerge in Nigerian politics and leadership. The party’s name is derived from the idea of giving access to new blood with good goals and values. In Hausa, “Access Party” directly translates to “Opportunity Party,” reflecting the party’s commitment to serving those who deserve to lead but lack opportunities in existing political parties.

From Movement to Party: A New Chapter for Tafiyar Matasa
The Tafiyar Matasa movement, led by Audu Bulama Bukarti, Barrister Abba Hikima, and their team, has been gaining momentum in recent times. Now, they are taking a significant step towards formalizing their presence in Nigerian politics by registering as a political party under the name Access Party. While the movement will retain its name in the North, the party will operate under the Access Party banner nationwide. Interestingly, the party is known differently in the South, where it’s referred to as “Our Music… With our mata.”
What’s Next?
Bukarti hinted that more information about the party’s registration process with INEC will be shared from Friday to the weekend. As the Access Party’s registration process progresses, Nigerians will be watching closely to see how the party’s ideology and leadership style play out. Will the party’s emphasis on opportunity and good character attract a significant following? Only time will tell.
