A Visionary Step Toward Youth Empowerment, Says Chairman Najibullah Falalu
BUJI, JIGAWA STATE – In a landmark development for educational advancement in Jigawa State, the Executive Chairman of Buji Local Government Area, Arc. Najibullah Falalu, presented official admission letters to a fresh cohort of outstanding students offered full scholarships to pursue the prestigious International Diploma Program at the Jigawa State Institute of Information Technology (JSIICT), Kazaure.
This educational sponsorship is being delivered under the Matawalle Students Support Program (MSSP)—a visionary initiative aimed at uplifting the academic prospects of young people in Buji. The program, fully funded by the Buji Local Government Council, is part of a broader strategy to invest in human capital and prepare local youths for the digital economy.
According to Chairman Falalu, the beneficiaries were selected through a transparent, merit-based process that ensured fair representation from all 10 wards of Buji LGA. The selection committee evaluated candidates based on academic merit, eligibility, and inclusiveness, reflecting the LGA’s commitment to equity and justice.
“We are not just sending students to school—we are sending a message that the future of Buji is being built on the solid foundation of education, discipline, and opportunity,” said Chairman Falalu during the ceremony held at the JSIICT campus.
Addressing the students, he encouraged them to embrace this “golden opportunity” with pride, discipline, and a deep sense of responsibility. He called them “ambassadors of Buji”, urging them to uphold the values of excellence, obedience, and hard work as they begin their academic journey in a tech-driven environment.
JSIICT Kazaure is a globally recognized institute, known for producing top-tier ICT professionals across Nigeria and beyond. The International Diploma Program is designed to equip students with practical and theoretical knowledge in fields such as software development, networking, cybersecurity, and data science—skills highly relevant in today’s digital economy.
This initiative aligns with Chairman Falalu’s broader developmental vision, which prioritizes education, youth development, and capacity building. Since assuming office, the Chairman—an architect by training and a known advocate for youth empowerment—has spearheaded numerous community-driven programs focusing on education, infrastructure, and economic empowerment.
As the region moves forward, many see this scholarship program as a model for grassroots development, proving how local governments can directly impact the lives of their citizens through smart, people-centered policies.
“By investing in education, we are planting seeds for a more prosperous Buji. These young scholars are our pride, our future, and our greatest hope,” Chairman Falalu added.
The event concluded with prayers for success and protection of the students as they embark on this transformative educational journey.
