CSOs Salutes Dr. Akinwumi Adesina: A Legacy of Integrity and Visionary Leadership

Abuja, Nigeria – In a grand tribute, the Committed Advocates of Integrity Initiative (CADII) honored Dr. Akinwumi Ayodeji Adesina, outgoing President of the African Development Bank Group (AfDB), for his decade-long transformative leadership. Dr. Adesina’s legacy is marked by unwavering commitment to excellence, integrity, and Africa’s development.
During his tenure, Dr. Adesina spearheaded the AfDB’s High 5 Agenda, a visionary blueprint that prioritized:
- Lighting Up and Powering Africa
- Feeding Africa
- Industrializing Africa
- Integrating Africa
- Improving the Quality of Life for Africans
These initiatives attracted billions in investments, promoted climate resilience, and advanced digital and agricultural innovation.
Before joining AfDB, Dr. Adesina served as Nigeria’s Minister of Agriculture, where he:
- Eliminated corruption in fertilizer distribution
- Introduced the e-wallet system
- Launched the Agricultural Transformation Agenda
- Spearheaded the Youth Enterprise With Innovation in Nigeria (YouWiN!) program
CADII Executive Director, Comr Charles C Agubor, praised Dr. Adesina’s fearless stance against corruption, inefficiency, and mediocrity. “You have raised the bar. You have shown what is possible,” Agubor said.
