EFCC Arraigns Ex-AMCON MD, Arik Air MD, and Others Over Alleged ₦76bn, $31.5m Fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Monday, January 20, 2025, arraigned Ahmed Kuru, former Managing Director of the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON), and Captain Roy Ilegbodu, the current Managing Director of Arik Air, over alleged financial misconduct.
Also arraigned were Kamilu Omokide, Receiver Manager of Arik Air, alongside Union Bank Plc and Super Bravo Limited. The case, presented before Justice Mojisola Dada at the Special Offences Court in Ikeja, Lagos, involves a six-count charge related to alleged theft of Arik Air properties and abuse of office.
The defendants pleaded not guilty to all charges when read to them.
