EFCC Re-Arraigns Ex-NSA Dasuki, Others Over Alleged N33.2 Billion Arms Fraud

By Usman A Harande
In a significant development, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has re-arraigned former National Security Adviser (NSA), Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd.), alongside a former General Manager of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and others, over alleged involvement in a N33.2 billion arms fraud.
Dasuki, who has been embroiled in several corruption cases, including allegations of money laundering and abuse of office, was previously re-arraigned in May 2022 on corruption charges bordering on money laundering. The former NSA has also been linked to other high-profile corruption cases, including the alleged diversion of N1.2 billion in funds meant for arms procurement, which was instead used to fund the 2015 presidential campaign of former President Goodluck Jonathan.
The re-arraignment of Dasuki and others is a testament to the EFCC’s commitment to combating corruption and ensuring accountability in Nigeria’s public sector. As the trial unfolds, Nigerians will be watching closely to see how the case progresses and whether justice will be served.
