In a ceremony held at the EFCC’s headquarters on Monday, May 12, 2025, the Council of Nigerian Youths Advocate (CNYA) recognized the Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ola Olukoyede, as a “Peak Performer/Icon of Nation Building.” This distinction acknowledges Olukoyede’s exceptional leadership, contributions to youth and women empowerment, and dedication to human transformation.
CNYA President Ambassador Haruna Gambari praised Olukoyede’s leadership style, citing the Commission’s notable achievements under his tenure. Gambari highlighted the EFCC’s efforts in restoring public confidence, particularly through the establishment of the Special Task Force against Abuse of the Naira. The Council commended Olukoyede’s aggressive pursuit of high-profile corruption cases, involving former governors, senators, and ministers.
In his response, Olukoyede expressed gratitude to the Council for recognizing the EFCC’s anti-corruption efforts. He emphasized the importance of public support in the fight against corruption and urged youths to join the battle. Olukoyede noted that corruption has devastated the future of Nigerian youths and encouraged them to resist the temptation of benefiting from corrupt practices.
The EFCC Chairman called for closer collaboration with the Commission, stating that collective efforts are essential in rebuilding the nation. He emphasized that Nigerians must take ownership of the anti-corruption fight, as it is a collective responsibility to restore the country’s glory.
