By Abdulhamid Sani
Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, made a surprise appearance at Salvation Ministries in GRA, Port Harcourt, on Sunday, putting an end to speculation about his whereabouts. Fubara’s attendance at the church service was his first public outing since his suspension from office.
The governor was warmly welcomed by a senior pastor and joined the congregation for the service, smiling and appearing calm. Notably, he arrived at the church with a modest convoy, without the official flag or seal of the governor’s office. Fubara’s Chief of Staff, Edison Ehie, accompanied him to the service.
This public appearance comes on the heels of President Bola Tinubu’s declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State, citing escalating political tensions and security concerns, which led to Fubara’s suspension.
Fubara’s church appearance has sparked interest, with many Nigerians taking to social media to share their thoughts on the development. The governor’s suspension has been a topic of national discussion, with various stakeholders weighing in on the implications of the president’s decision.
