Dutse, Jigawa State – April 7, 2025 – As Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State celebrates his 62nd birthday, he is being lauded for his commitment to reviving legacy projects and driving unprecedented development across the state. In a recent article, journalist Kabir Musa Ringim highlighted the governor’s efforts to entrench a “culture of continuity,” building upon the foundations laid by his predecessors, particularly former Governor Sule Lamido.

Ringim’s observations paint a picture of a state undergoing a significant transformation. He noted the revitalization of the state secretariat and G9 quarters in Dutse, both previously neglected, now undergoing extensive renovations. The governor’s infrastructure push is also evident in the new road project from Raudah Clinic to Danmasara Junction, addressing long-standing needs and improving connectivity.

“It warmed my heart, to say the least, because this same secretariat built by Governor Sule Lamido had been almost abandoned for eight years under the previous administration,” Ringim wrote, emphasizing the contrast in governance.

The housing sector is also witnessing a boom under Governor Namadi. New housing estates are springing up in Limawa, Fanisau, Ringim, Hadejia, and other major towns, addressing the state’s housing deficit. This contrasts sharply with the previous administration’s lack of focus on housing development.

“Notably, from 2015 to 2023, not a single housing estate was initiated, built, or completed across the state!” Ringim pointed out.

Governor Namadi’s focus extends beyond infrastructure. The construction of a mega skills acquisition center in Limawa and the upgrade of the existing center demonstrate his commitment to job creation and citizen empowerment. New specialist hospitals are also underway in Fanisau, Kafin Hausa, and Ringim, signaling a significant investment in healthcare.

Ringim praised Governor Namadi’s fiscal prudence, noting that Jigawa is now the least indebted state in Nigeria. “Mallam is not taking new loans; instead, he’s settling the small debts inherited from past administrations while delivering remarkable projects and paying workers’ salaries promptly,” he stated.

While expressing overall satisfaction, Ringim raised concerns about the Ramadan feeding program and a multi-billion-naira consulting contract for the education sector. However, he acknowledged the administration’s numerous positive initiatives, including agricultural transformation, IT revolution, and strategic appointments.

“Governor Umar Namadi is doing that and much more. He’s performing far beyond expectations, winning my heart and earning my full support as he relentlessly works to make Jigawa great,” Ringim concluded.

As Governor Namadi celebrates his 62nd birthday, he is being recognized for his commitment to progress, his ability to build on past legacies, and his dedication to making Jigawa a model state.
