Governor of Kwara Inaugurates New Commissioners, Shuffles Cabinet Portfolios

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has inaugurated two new commissioners, Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe and Dr. Maryam Nnafatima Imam, assigning them to key cabinet portfolios. The inauguration, which took place on Monday, marked a significant reshuffle in the state’s cabinet.
New Assignments:
- Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe: Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development
- Dr. Maryam Nnafatima Imam: Commissioner for Social Development
- Hajia Sa’adatu Modibbo Kawu: Moved to the Ministry of Tertiary Education
- Dr. Mary Arinde: Now leads the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development
- Lafia Aliyu Kora Sabi: Commissioner for the newly created Transportation Ministry
- Olohuntoyosi Thomas Adebayo: Assigned to the new Ministry of Livestock Development
- Dr. Afeez Abolore: Replaces Olohuntoyosi in the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development
- Abosede Olaitan Buraimoh: Now leads the Solid Minerals Ministry
Governor AbdulRazaq emphasized the importance of teamwork and dedication in public service, urging the new commissioners to “embrace creativity, touch base with the people, think outside the box, and apply prudence in every decision made”.
