These new laws pave the way for the establishment of four distinct agencies aimed at fortifying the state’s institutional framework and driving sustainable development across various sectors.

The Governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, announced the landmark signings on Thursday, highlighting the strategic importance of these new entities.
The newly enacted laws will bring forth the following agencies:
- Kano State Protection Agency (KASPA): Focused on enhancing public safety and security within the state.
- Kano State Signage and Advertisement Agency (KASIAA): Tasked with regulating signage and advertising activities across Kano.
- Kano State Information and Communication Technologies Development Agency (KASITDA): Aimed at fostering innovation and growth within the ICT sector.
- Kano State Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (KASMEDA): Dedicated to supporting and empowering small and medium-sized businesses in the state.
These legislative actions are now embedded in Kano State’s legal framework and are anticipated to be catalysts for innovation, provide crucial support to local businesses, ensure orderly regulation of signage and advertising, and ultimately improve public protection and the delivery of essential services.

Governor Yusuf underscored the significance of this development as a tangible stride towards realizing his administration’s ambition for a modern, inclusive, and economically dynamic Kano.
He emphasized the critical role these new agencies will play in generating employment opportunities, attracting vital investments, and ensuring the efficient execution of key government initiatives.
“Our unwavering mission is to build a robust foundation for a greater Kano State,” Governor Yusuf stated. “These laws transcend mere policy; they are powerful instruments of transformation that will be instrumental in driving our comprehensive development agenda forward.”
The Governor also issued a firm warning against any violations of the newly established laws, stating that strict penalties will be enforced. This reinforces his administration’s commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring full compliance.
The creation of these four new agencies underscores Governor Yusuf’s ongoing commitment to reforming public institutions, enhancing governance practices, and positioning Kano State as a leading hub for innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable progress.
