Dutse, Jigawa State – In a landmark event today, the National Association of Jigawa State Students (NAJISS) celebrated the inauguration of its newly elected leadership at the Jigawa State Polytechnic. This significant occasion marks a new chapter for the association, as it aims to enhance educational development in the state.

The newly sworn-in leaders include:

1. Abubakar Muhammad Kazura – President
2. Umar Yunusa Tazara – Secretary General
3. Muhammad Lamir Umar – Assistant Secretary General
4. Bashir Malam Sulaiman – Senate President
5. Abba Hamisu Garu – Vice President
6. Nasibatu Aliyu Abubakar – Vice President Special Duties
7. Umar Yunusa – Financial Secretary
8. Sagir Aliyu – Treasurer
9. Adamu Ibrahim – PRO1
10. Musa Haruna – PRO2
11. Abubakar Lawan – Social Director
12. Muhammad Isyaku – Business Director
13. Abdullahi Sani – Welfare Director
14. Sani Muhammad – Support Director
15. Asm’u Bilya – Director of Gender
16. Adamu Sa’idu Umar – Ex-Officio
17. Sa’idu Nuhu – Senator Representing Federal University Dutse

During the inauguration, Hon. Mukhtar Birniwa, Special Advisor to the Executive Governor of Jigawa State on Sustainable Development Goals, praised Governor Umar A. Namadi FCA for his commitment to educational initiatives. He urged the new leadership to collaborate with key stakeholders to further elevate the educational standards within Jigawa State.

Likewise, Ambassador Muhammad Salisu Seeker, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Student Affairs, emphasized the government’s dedication to educational growth through the Governor’s Namadi Educational agenda, which includes the Danmodi Student Care Program.

Aminu Musa Liman, Chairman of the Convention Planning Committee, highlighted the unprecedented nature of this election, describing it as “the most free, fair, and credible electoral process in the history of student affairs in Jigawa State.”

Furthermore, Ambassador Ahmad Magaji Bashir, representing the Inauguration Planning Committee, celebrated this moment as a significant milestone in the student movement in the state.

In his inaugural address, Abubakar Kazura expressed gratitude towards the Jigawa State Government and pledged to ensure transparency and accountability within NAJISS. He committed to collaborating with governmental bodies and stakeholders to address issues affecting students, particularly the need for inclusive education and the promotion of educational opportunities for all.

Sadi Garba Sa’id, Coordinator of Zone A of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), commended the state government’s transformative efforts in making education more inclusive and accessible.

The newly inaugurated NAJISS Executive was officially sworn in by Barrister AA Phillips, symbolizing a hopeful and proactive future for student representation in Jigawa State.

This pivotal development not only signifies a stronger student voice in the region but also aligns with ongoing efforts to foster educational excellence as part of Governor Namadi’s broader vision for sustainable development in Jigawa State.

With the promising leadership of NAJISS now in place, stakeholders across the state are optimistic about collaborative efforts that will enhance the educational landscape for future generations.
