Jigawa Police Busts Criminal Syndicate, Arrests 22 Suspects

Dutse, Jigawa State – The Jigawa State Police Command has announced the arrest of 22 suspects involved in various crimes, including armed robbery, cattle rustling, motorcycle snatching, and theft. In a press release issued on September 30, 2024, the command detailed the operations that led to the arrests and the recovery of several items, including firearms, stolen cattle, vehicles, and other valuables.

Among the notable arrests was that of Buhari Ya’u, a notorious armed robbery suspect who was apprehended in Benue State. Ya’u was linked to a series of armed robberies in the Dutse and Ringim emirates, including one that resulted in the death of a 40-year-old man.

In another operation, the police arrested 13 suspects involved in cattle rustling, recovering seven cows and a stolen vehicle. The suspects were operating across multiple local government areas in the state.

Other arrests included individuals involved in criminal conspiracy, theft, and motorcycle snatching. The police recovered stolen motorcycles, solar inverter batteries, and other items during these operations.

The Jigawa State Police Command commended its officers for their diligent work in apprehending these criminals and ensuring the safety of the community. The suspects are currently in custody and will be charged in court upon completion of investigations.
