Jigawa Police Gears Up for National Police Day with Community-Focused Initiatives

DUTSE, JIGAWA STATE – April 1, 2025 – The Jigawa State Police Command is set to commemorate the maiden National Police Day, scheduled for April 7th, 2025, with a series of community-centric activities. This follows the presidential directive issued on April 15, 2024, establishing an annual day to honor the Nigeria Police Force’s vital role in national security and justice.
The command, under the leadership of Commissioner of Police AT Abdullahi, psc, has organized a week-long program starting Wednesday, April 2nd, 2025, to strengthen police-community relations and highlight the dedication of law enforcement personnel. Key activities include:
- Free Medical Services: Providing essential healthcare to residents, fostering goodwill and demonstrating the police’s commitment to community welfare.
- Public Place Sanitation: Contributing to a cleaner and healthier environment, showcasing the police’s involvement in civic duties.
- Community Engagement Programs: Facilitating dialogue and building trust through interactive sessions and outreach initiatives.
- Stakeholder Meetings: Addressing policing challenges and collaboratively developing strategies to enhance security across Jigawa State.
Commissioner Abdullahi emphasized, “This National Police Day underscores our unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property. We are dedicated to working closely with our communities to ensure a safe, secure, and law-abiding environment.”
