Dutse, Jigawa State – The Jigawa State Executive Council (ExCo) has approved a total of N3.5 billion for various projects aimed at improving education, infrastructure, and social welfare in the state.

Education: N740 million for the construction of classrooms, laboratories, toilets, admin blocks, ICT Labs, and workshops in selected schools across the state.N624 million for bursary allowances for students in state-owned universities and colleges.

Infrastructure: N1.1 billion for electrification projects, extension of electricity, rehabilitation of sub-stations, and 33KV ITC lines in various communities.N466 million for the procurement of 300 units of solar-powered multi-purpose kiosks to boost job opportunities and economic growth.

Social Welfare: N798 million for the procurement of food commodities for SEMA emergency response and preparedness for relief materials and intervention.

These approvals demonstrate the state government’s commitment to improving the lives of its citizens through education, infrastructure development, and social welfare programs. The projects are expected to have a significant impact on the state’s economy and development.
