In a bid to enhance security in Jigawa State, the government has donated two Toyota Hilux vehicles and twelve motorcycles to the Jigawa State Police Command, 26 Armoured Brigade Nigeria Army, Dutse, and Nigeria Immigration Service, Jigawa State Command. This gesture underscores the administration’s commitment to ensuring the safety of its citizens and their properties.

According to Ismaila Ibrahim, Public Relations Officer, Office of the Secretary to the Government of Jigawa State, the donation is part of the government’s efforts to support security forces in maintaining peace in the state. Jigawa State has been recognized as one of the most peaceful states in Nigeria.

The Secretary to the Government of Jigawa State, Malam Bala Ibrahim, presented the keys to the vehicles to the representatives of the security agencies, emphasizing the government’s unwavering commitment to security. The Permanent Secretary, Council Affairs/Special Service, Alhaji Abba Muhammad, also highlighted the administration’s readiness to support security forces.

DC Tijjani Murtala and Conel D. Yakubu, representing the Jigawa State Police Command and 26 Armoured Brigade Nigeria Army, respectively, expressed gratitude for the donations, assuring that the vehicles would be utilized effectively to bolster security efforts in the state.

This donation is not the first time Jigawa State Government has supported security agencies. In August 2023, Governor Malam Umar Namadi donated 30 patrol motorcycles to the Nigerian Police Force’s Jigawa State Command.

The ceremony was witnessed by the Director Special Service, Salisu Yau Taura, among others. With this donation, Jigawa State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of its citizens.
