Kigali, Rwanda – Governor Mallam Umar Namadi is spearheading Jigawa State’s delegation at the prestigious Africa Food Systems Summit 2024, showcasing the state’s innovative approaches to agricultural development and food sovereignty.

Governor Namadi will deliver a keynote address, highlighting Jigawa State’s strategies and achievements in achieving food sovereignty and enhancing agricultural resilience.
Showcasing Jigawa’s Flagship Projects
The Jigawa State delegation will participate in panel discussions, showcasing the state’s flagship Rice Millionaire Project and its role in contributing to Nigeria’s national food security. They will also discuss innovative solutions to enhance fertilizer availability and accessibility.

The delegation will meet with government officials, development partners, and private sector investors to explore collaboration opportunities and attract investment into Jigawa’s growing agricultural sector.

Agriculture is a key component of Governor Namadi’s comprehensive 12-point agenda for Jigawa State’s development. Initiatives like the Rice Millionaire Project, Wheat Project, and Special Agro-Processing Zones (SAPZs) aim to accelerate agricultural transformation.
