JIGAWA STATE PARTNERS WITH EUROPA CARBON LIMITED TO COMBAT CLIMATE CHANGE AND BOOST REVENUE

Dutse, Jigawa State – August 27, 2024 – The Jigawa State Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Europa Carbon Limited, a renewable energy company, to address climate change effects and enhance revenue generation.
The signing ceremony, presided over by Governor Mallam Umar Namadi, marks a significant milestone in the state’s journey towards sustainable development and reduced carbon emissions.
Through this partnership, clean energy will be generated to support agricultural and industrial activities across the state, promoting economic growth and environmental sustainability.
Governor Namadi expressed optimism about the MOU, stating, “This partnership will help us reduce carbon emissions, improve our revenue, and make Jigawa safer and cleaner.”
The state government has already implemented significant changes, including converting water stations to solar energy supply and replacing diesel generators with solar-powered systems.
The MOU signing ceremony is part of the state’s 12-point agenda to improve revenue, with potential for generating substantial carbon credits through agricultural activities.
Europa Carbon Limited’s MD/CEO, Engr Muhammad Yadudu, outlined the partnership’s objectives, including mitigating carbon emissions, creating jobs, and generating revenue.
The $500,000 MOU will span seven years, marking the beginning of a transformative era in Jigawa State’s approach to energy generation and environmental management.
