Jigawa State Police Investigate Suspected Suicide in Islamiyya Classroom

Dutse, Nigeria – A 40-year-old man, Jibrin Adamu, was found dead in an Islamiyya classroom in Kiyawa Local Government Area of Jigawa State on Tuesday, September 19. The Jigawa State Police Command has launched an investigation into the incident, which is being treated as a suspected suicide.
According to a press release issued by the police command, Adamu was discovered hanging from the ceiling of a classroom at the Miftahul Khairat Islamiyya And Primary School Gurdiba. He was pronounced dead upon arrival at Dutse General Hospital.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Adamu had a history of mental health issues and had been known to leave home for extended periods. Before his death, he had reportedly gone out to fetch water near the school.
The police command has assured the public that a thorough investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances surrounding Adamu’s death.
