PDP Governors Forum Charts Way Forward Amidst Challenges
In a bid to strengthen the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a high-level meeting of serving and former governors was convened at the Bauchi Governor’s Lodge. The gathering, which was well-attended, focused on addressing the party’s current challenges and mapping out a roadmap for its future.

A key outcome of the meeting was the establishment of a seven-man committee tasked with ensuring a peaceful National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting slated for May 27th and the upcoming national convention. Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki was appointed to lead the committee, which will work in tandem with other notable members, including Governors Dauda Lawal (Zamfara State), Caleb Muftwang (Plateau State), and Peter Mba (Enugu State). Other committee members include Senators Seriake Dickson and Ibrahim Dankwambo, as well as former Abia State Governor, Chief Okezie Ikpeazu.
The committee’s primary objective is to facilitate a rancour-free NEC meeting and national convention, thereby setting the stage for the party’s resurgence. With a clear mandate and a team of experienced leaders, the PDP is poised to overcome its current challenges and emerge stronger.
