JUST IN: Private Jet Crash-Lands at Kano Airport

Kano, Dec. 14, 2025 — A private jet operated by Flybird on Sunday morning crash-landed at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA), prompting an emergency response by airport authorities.
Preliminary reports indicate that the aircraft, which departed Abuja for Kano, made a hard landing at about 9:30 a.m. with 11 persons on board, including three crew members. An eyewitness confirmed that all passengers were safely evacuated, with no immediate fatalities reported.
Airport emergency services swiftly cordoned off the affected area as firefighters and medical teams attended to the scene. Operations at the airport were briefly disrupted while safety checks were carried out.
In an initial update, aviation officials said the cause of the incident remains under investigation, adding that the aircraft sustained damage during the landing. Relevant agencies, including the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), have commenced standard post-incident procedures.
