Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (Rtd), the newly appointed Sole Administrator of Rivers State, has arrived at the Government House in Port Harcourt. This development comes amid heightened political tensions in the state, following the declaration of a state of emergency by President Bola Tinubu.

Ibas, a former Chief of Naval Staff in Nigeria, has vowed to work with all stakeholders to restore lasting peace in the state. In his first public statement after his appointment, he pledged to collaborate with all relevant parties to ensure the return of normalcy in Rivers State.

As the Sole Administrator, Ibas will oversee the state’s administration for the next six months, as part of the federal government’s intervention. His appointment was announced by President Tinubu, who nominated him to take charge of the state’s affairs in the interest of the good people of Rivers State.
