Kwankwasiyya and Amana Cities Revival: Kano State Government Takes Bold Steps

By Hassan Kano
In a bid to revive the Kwankwasiyya and Amana Cities, the Kano State Government has commenced occupancy verification at the Kwankwasiyya city housing estate. This move is in line with the three-month ultimatum given to property owners to occupy their houses or risk revocation.
Leading the charge is Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, Chairman of the Special Committee on the Revival of Kwankwasiyya and Amana Cities, who also serves as the State Commissioner of Information and Internal Affairs. Waiya’s committee has deployed survey officials to verify the level of completion and occupancy status of the houses ¹.
Renovation and Development Efforts
As part of the revival efforts, the governor has fully renovated and made the governor’s lodge situated at the Kwankwasiyya city functional. The lodge now boasts necessary infrastructure and accessories to make living more meaningful.
The state government has also invested in expanding the Kwankwasiyya City projects, aiming to set a new standard for sustainable development that aligns with global urbanization and long-term sustainability.
Committee’s Determination
The Special Committee is working tirelessly to ensure proper utilization of the facilities. With the governor’s proactive measures, the government is committed to providing and maintaining necessary infrastructure.
As the committee continues its work, the people of Kano State can expect significant developments in the Kwankwasiyya and Amana Cities.
