New Commissioner of Police Takes the Helm in Kano State

In a move aimed at enhancing security and effective policing in Kano State, Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun has approved the posting of CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori as the new Commissioner of Police for Kano State Command.
CP Bakori, a seasoned and dedicated officer, brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having served in various operational, investigative, and administrative capacities. His impressive track record includes stints as Principal Staff Officer to the Inspector-General of Police and Commissioner of Police in the Homicide Section of the Force Criminal Investigation Department.
The IGP has tasked CP Bakori with leveraging his expertise to ensure the safety and security of Kano State residents. He is expected to build on the achievements of his predecessor, strengthen community policing initiatives, and foster collaboration with stakeholders to enhance public trust and security.
CP Bakori’s appointment is a significant development in the Nigeria Police Force’s efforts to bolster security in Kano State. His extensive experience in operations, intelligence, and security management makes him well-suited to lead the state’s police command.
CP Bakori’s Background and Experience
Before his appointment as Commissioner of Police for Kano State, CP Bakori served as the Commissioner of Police in charge of Homicide at the Force Investigation Department (FID) in Abuja . He has also held key positions in the criminal investigation departments of Bayelsa and Rivers States, and served as Commander of the Bayelsa State Joint Task Force.
The Police Service Commission has pledged to monitor CP Bakori’s progress and offer support for his success in his new role.
