NNPP’s Lone Rep, Hon. Yusuf Shitu Galambi, Defects to APC

By Editor
In a shocking move, Hon. Yusuf Shitu Galambi, the only member of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in the House of Representatives, has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC). This development was announced by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, via a letter read on the floor of the lower legislative chamber.
Hon. Galambi, who represents Gwaram federal constituency, cited the leadership crisis within the NNPP as the reason for his defection. Notably, he was the only NNPP member to win a seat in the 2023 general election.
Galambi’s defection marks the latest in a series of opposition lawmakers joining the APC. Others who have made the switch include Garba Koko from Kebbi, who defected from the PDP on February 12, and Chris Nkwonta from Abia, who left the PDP for APC on October 2.
This development has significant implications for the political landscape in Nigeria, and we will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
