NUJ Jigawa Felicitates Gov. Namadi on Honorary Doctorate Award

Dutse, Dec. 14, 2025 The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Jigawa State Council, has congratulated the Executive Governor of Jigawa State, Malam Umar A. Namadi, on his conferment with an Honorary Doctorate Degree (Honoris Causa) in Business and Sustainability by the Federal University of Otuoke, Bayelsa State.
In a statement jointly signed by the NUJ Chairman, Comrade Ismaila Ibrahim Dutse, and the Acting Secretary, Comrade Aminu Umar Shuwajo, the Union described the award as a well-earned recognition of Governor Namadi’s exemplary leadership and sustained commitment to good governance.
According to the NUJ, the honour reflects the Governor’s notable contributions to transparent governance, public service reforms, education, youth empowerment, agricultural development, and economic growth, which have continued to shape Jigawa State’s development trajectory.
The Council noted that the recognition goes beyond a personal achievement, describing it as a source of pride for the entire people of Jigawa State. It also commended the Federal University of Otuoke for acknowledging excellence in public policy and administration, stressing that such recognition encourages integrity and discipline in public service.
“As journalists, we are encouraged when good governance is recognised and celebrated. Governor Namadi’s leadership underscores the value of consistency, humility, and service-driven governance,” the statement read.
The NUJ Jigawa State Council reaffirmed its support for leaders who uphold the principles of accountability, dedication, and excellence, while offering prayers for continued wisdom and greater achievements for Governor Namadi in his efforts to advance development across the state.
