The 14 Emir of Kano Aminu Ado Bayero Stopped from Entering Nassarawa Local Government

In a recent development, the Chairman of Nassarawa Local Government, Kano State, Amb Yusuf Imam Shuaibu (Ogan Ɓoye), has taken a bold step to assert the authority of the local government. This move comes after an invitation was extended to the 15th Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, to attend a Qu’anic graduation ceremony at Ubayyu School in Gama area of Nassarawa local government.
However, in a surprising turn of events, the Chairman has banned the use of Aminu Ado Bayero’s portrait in all public places within the local government. Instead, the portrait of Emir Sunusi will be used.
This development is not unrelated to the ongoing controversy surrounding Aminu Ado Bayero’s status as the Emir of Kano. The Kano State Government had earlier instructed the Commissioner of Police to remove Bayero from the Nasarawa Emirs’ residence, where he had been residing.
The court had also ordered Bayero to stop parading himself as the Emir of Kano, pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice. With these recent developments, it is clear that the controversy surrounding Aminu Ado Bayero’s status as the Emir of Kano is far from over.
