VP Shettima, Defence Minister Badaru Lead Tributes for Late Mrs. Gbemisola Olowolafe

Lagos, Nigeria – April 10, 2025 – A poignant evening of tributes and songs of service echoed through the Eko Convention Centre as Nigeria’s top officials gathered to honor the late Mrs. Gbemisola Olowolafe, wife of Dr. Tunji Olowolafe, Chancellor of Ekiti State University. The solemn event, held on Wednesday, April 9th, 2025, served as a heartfelt farewell to Mrs. Olowolafe, who passed away on March 11th, 2025.
Vice President Kashim Shettima, GCON, led the assemblage of dignitaries, reflecting the deep respect and affection held for the Olowolafe family. The Honourable Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, CON, mni, was also present, joining a distinguished list of attendees that included Mrs. Dolapo Osinbajo, wife of former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, and Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu.
The night was marked by moving eulogies and soulful musical performances, capturing the essence of Mrs. Olowolafe’s life and legacy. Serving and former ministers, alongside other prominent figures, joined the Olowolafe family in remembrance, highlighting the widespread impact of her life.
