In a significant development aimed at redefining the political landscape of Kano State, the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, has inaugurated a 14-member Committee of Patrons for the Gauta Club. This move underscores Waiya’s commitment to promoting decent and inclusive politics in the state, aligning with Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s vision for a united and progressive Kano.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Comrade Waiya highlighted that the selection of patrons was based on merit, integrity, and dedication to Kano’s development, transcending party lines and ideological differences. “This initiative is guided purely by our love for Kano,” Waiya emphasized. “We deliberately chose distinguished individuals from diverse backgrounds without considering party affiliations, because our focus is on progress and unity, not politics.”

The formation of the patrons’ committee is seen as a strategic step towards enhancing the operations of the Gauta Club, fostering a more organized and purposeful approach to leadership and governance in Kano. Waiya charged the patrons to remain committed to the ideals of the Gauta Club, promoting respectful and constructive political dialogue.

The Commissioner clarified that the initiative is not aimed at stifling opposition but rather at strengthening inclusive and respectful political engagement. He praised Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his unwavering support for initiatives that promote political sanity and unity in the state.

Ibrahim Global Gwammaja, Secretary of the Gauta Club, lauded Commissioner Waiya and Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for their efforts in uniting members of the Club. He described the initiative as a bold step towards promoting decent, peaceful, and constructive politics in Kano State.
