Murnai Environmental Solutions Inspires Katsina Pupils with Tree-Planting, Climate Change Awareness Campaign

KATSINA, Nigeria – In a significant step toward promoting environmental sustainability and climate resilience, Murnai Environmental Solutions has successfully organized an environmental awareness and tree-planting outreach at Senator Ibrahim Ida Primary School, Abattoir, Katsina State.
The initiative, led by the Founder of Murnai Environmental Solutions, Muhammad Mansir Murnai, brought together pupils, teachers, and school administrators in an engaging programme designed to cultivate environmental responsibility among young learners.
During the outreach, participants received practical lessons on climate change, environmental conservation, proper waste management, biodiversity protection, and the importance of tree planting in creating healthier and more sustainable communities.
The interactive sessions encouraged pupils to become environmental ambassadors by adopting simple but impactful habits such as maintaining clean surroundings, disposing of waste responsibly, and protecting natural resources. Facilitators also explained how trees help improve air quality, prevent soil erosion, preserve biodiversity, absorb carbon emissions, and mitigate the effects of climate change.
One of the major highlights of the programme was the planting of tree seedlings within the school premises. The exercise served as a practical demonstration of environmental stewardship while reinforcing the message that every tree planted contributes to ecosystem restoration, climate resilience, and a greener future.
Speaking during the event, Founder of Murnai Environmental Solutions, Muhammad Mansir Murnai, stressed that environmental education remains one of the most effective strategies for building a sustainable future.
“The fight against climate change begins with awareness. By educating children today, we are raising a generation of environmentally conscious leaders who will protect our natural resources and champion sustainable development within their communities,” he said.
The Headmaster of Senator Ibrahim Ida Primary School commended Murnai Environmental Solutions for selecting the school for the impactful outreach, describing the initiative as timely, educational, and inspiring.
He noted that the programme had strengthened environmental awareness among both pupils and staff, while encouraging students to nurture the newly planted trees and apply the environmental lessons in their daily lives. He also expressed the school’s willingness to partner with the organization on future environmental initiatives.
The outreach concluded with a shared commitment by both the school and Murnai Environmental Solutions to sustain environmental education, climate action, and conservation efforts.
